Heatherwood School | Student Printing Guide

Created by Nathali Jayasinghe, Modified on Wed, 2 Jul at 12:29 PM by Nathali Jayasinghe

Dear Staff,

To help manage printing resources and reduce waste, the following printing restrictions and quotas have been set for students in our PaperCut printing system.

Please refer to this guide when assisting students with any printing issues or questions.

1. Page Count Limit per Print Job

  • Students can print a maximum of 15 pages per job.

Any document over 15 pages will be automatically denied by the system. This helps prevent large jobs from blocking shared printers or students accidentally printing hundreds of pages.

Tip: If a student needs to print a large document, have them split it into smaller sections (e.g. pages 1–15, 16–30).

2. Maximum Copies per Job

  • Students can print up to 10 copies of any single document.

Printing more than 10 copies in a single job will be denied.

Tip: If more copies are genuinely needed, ask them to send the job multiple times with fewer copies each.

3. Monthly Print Quota

  • Each student receives $10.00 in print credit at the start of each month.
  • Credit can accumulate up to $15.00 maximum.
  • Once a student reaches the $15 balance limit, they will not receive any additional credit until their balance renews at the start of the following month.

    4. Student Print Queues and Release

  • Students can print using the following queues:

    • 4871-ps01\Heatherwood Student B&W

    • 4871-ps01\Heatherwood Student Colour

To release their print jobs, students must enter their 4-digit release code or use their student ID card.

For Staff Reference

  • These credit limits are in place to encourage responsible printing and reduce unnecessary waste.
  • If a student is unable to print due to limits and has a valid need, please feel free to contact Heatherwood IT Team for support.

Thank you for your cooperation in managing print usage effectively.
